1: Open up a fresh document 500500 pixels, and fill the background white.

Grab the Horizontal type tool. Select a cool font and type out the text in big letters. I will be using legittutorials in all caps. You can choose whatever font, but i recommend something thick. Rotate the text 45 degrees just for fun.

2: Now were gonna apply a simple 3d effect. Rasterize the text layer and duplicate. Now move the duplicate down and right 1 pixels. Repeat this 6 times, then merge all the duplicates together and lower the opacity to 50%.

Make a selection of the original text layer (ctrl+click), and expand the selection by 1 pixel (select>modify>expand). Delete this selection from the duplicates.

3: Create a new layer, and grab the paint bucket tool. Now set foreground color to something vibrant.

Create a box covering most of the first letter.

Now grab another bring color and make a box covering another section. Keep doing this till the whole text is covered.

4: Make a duplicate of the colors layer, and make it invisible. Now get a selection of the original text layer, select the inverse, and delete that selection from the visible text layer.

Now do the same for the 3d layer, lower the opacity to 50%, and delete the 2 original text layers.

5: Apply Inner Shadow, on the text layer, with the following settings:

Create a new layer, and grab the pen tool. With your foreground color set to white, make a swively white shape covering the top have of the text.

Set the mode to overlay, the opacity to 15%, and you done! Heres how mine turned out.
