Go and complete a puzzle up to but not including the final number. Save and exit the game. Now when you go to begin a new puzzle, select the saved puzzle. Enter the final number and instead of proceeding onto the next puzzle, go back to the main menu and repeat. The counter will go up each time you finish any puzzle, not just different puzzles.
