Launched in 2007, Microsoft's Games For Windows Live was a maligned game launcher designed to unite PC and Xbox Live users. That meant Xbox achievements on PC, Xbox social features on PC, but more pertinently, dealing with a terrible and poorly maintained user interface. Electronic Arts revealed its third and final major Battlefield 2042 game mode this week by unveiling Hazard Zone, a squad-based mode where players are tasked with recovering valuable data drives before being extracted from the battlefield. Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl has no shortage of characters to consider for post-launch appearances in the game considering how expansive Nickelodeon's roster is, but it looks like a popular suggestion for Super Smash Bros. A report has denied EA's claims that Battlefield 2042's recent beta build was "months" old. Emulator front-end RetroArch finally launched on Steam in September, but as the devs noted prior to release, it’s a somewhat limited form of the program. The Steam version currently only allows you to directly download a selection of ten emulator cores as DLC from the store page, but that number is set to expand soon.

After a long wait, Evil Genius 2: World Domination hit PCs earlier in the year.
