1
Find a replacement shell for the iPhone 3G. Purchase one that includes a plastic opening tool for prying open the iPhone shell.

2
Turn off your iPhone 3G. Remove the two small screws on either side of the docking port located on the bottom of the iPhone. Place these somewhere safe, along with all of the other screws you will remove from the iPhone while dissembling it.

3
Unbend the paper clip. Locate small hole next to the SIM card slot on the top of the iPhone 3G. Insert the paper clip to eject the SIM card from the phone.

4
Carefully slide the opening tool between the metal bezel and the front screen of the iPhone and lift the screen up. Detach the three ribbon connections and separate the screen from the the iPhone's shell. Place the screen to the side.

5
Remove the seven screws on the border, lift the motherboard from the housing and detach the ribbon holding it in place. Pull out the battery.

6
Remove the single screw holding the camera in place. Remove the remaining screws that hold the headphone jack and speaker assembly to the phone's bottom shell. Remove two small screws on the right side of the phone's shell that hold the vibrator assembly to the phone; place the vibrator assembly to the side.

7
Replace all of the internal components in the reverse order in your new iPhone housing starting with the vibrator assembly, being careful to replace all of the screws and ribbon connections exactly where they were. Put your SIM card back into the phone and power it back on.
