You'll have to find all 20 fragments to escape the loop. There are fragments in all 7 memories except memory 5.

Mostly, your way through the animus is very linear and you'll probably find all fragments on your first way through the 7 memories. Always pay attention to the shimmering noise that indicates a fragment or memo near you.
