So if someone enters your home without permission and they're armed with a shotgun you're going to pepper spray him?

Vox, what are the chances of that happening? Just keep all your doors locked and you will be fine. Pepper spray isn't a bad idea either.

People can bust in a door or knock out a window.

Say dad, I'm interested in knowing more about guns. More as shooting targets outside like clay pigeons.

I don't know about your neighborhood but the chances someone breaking in with the sole intent of killing/harming you is very very unlikely. Have you tried to break through a locked screen door? not as easy as you think.

My house has been broken into but nobody was home, we have a back door( which they came through ) that looked like this... [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
And they busted the door open but didn't break the window

And with pepper spray, i would have to get up close and personal where as with a gun i could stay back further.

I was under the assumption that most houses had security screen doors followed by a glass door. Anyway good luck with the original question.

Well it all depends on what gun your wanting see if your was going to ask for a Ar15 which is $600 he will say not but if its a shotgun which are about $100-$200 for a decent one that's something you could have in mind but just start talking about how your getting interested in guns and would like to own one and it would be nice to have one if you have your home robbed and needed one he may get one for you then it all depends on how your dad thinks of guns so you could start a conv on whats your opinion of guns if he doesn't like them you may not get one but if he thinks there cool your shoot for one went up

My dad has many guns and a ccl, we have been to the shooting range several times, and i think that he is alright with me having a gun in situations like this, i just never asked about if something happened what would i do and how would i protect my self.

Easy way to solve this is to plant c4 everywhere or some landmines, Might not be the safest option if it blows up but hey, if it does, at least they didn't get to steal anything. [ Register or Signin to view external links. ]
