If someone was to break into my house without my family's permission with the intent to steal or harm my family, they better kill me or im going to kill them PERIOD. And how is a gun not needed?
Possible to kill them without a gun, this is my opinion you all have your own ones also, i just would'nt use a gun, he's breaking into my home i'd want him to go through pain and know he's wrong and he shouldnt do it to ANYONE, thats how i think

I respect your opinion, but can you help me out with what i original asked.

I honestly dont think it's the right place to ask considering a vast majority of the members here are from the UK. I'm not trying to offend anyone from there, but they don't know what it's like to live with guns in the house, the same way the US doesn't know what its like to live without guns.

Have you taken hunter safety? Asked him to join a gun club? He'll trust you a lot more with a firearm if you know how to properly use it and understand that it isn't a toy. I shot my first gun at 14 and now Im 17 and still don't have a gun in my bedroom. We have hunting rifles, shotguns and pistols in a display case, but I don't want the responsibility tbh. I have a hunters knife right on my nightstand though.

With that being said, do what you want. I would bring up hunter safety or ask him to train you how to use a firearm properly.

So if someone enters your home without permission and they're armed with a shotgun you're going to pepper spray him?

Vox, what are the chances of that happening? Just keep all your doors locked and you will be fine. Pepper spray isn't a bad idea either.

If you are really that worried about a home break in, being shy isn't really an option. If you are that worried, you need to tell your parents, and ask them what precautions they take and mention maybe them owning a gun.

If your Father has guns surely he understands the need for them. It may be awkward but literally just ask him whatever it is you wish to achieve.

Just ask what you guys would do if someone were to break in, how would we make sure we can protect ourselves.
A gun is not really needed, and could be taken away and used against you guys...

Personally I wouldn't ask that cause never would rlly happen like if it came to the worst just use the surroundings around u.

GUNS are not needed like what happened with that guy that killed 5+ ppl cause of racism. Guns can change ppl.

Also Oscar, who killed his girlfriend, if he didn't have a gun then he may of not killed her

It is not a trust issue and i haven't had a safety course but he has his ccl and we have been to the range several times, i know the basics like to never put my finger on the trigger until i mean to shoot it and to treat every gun as if it is loaded, etc, i have plenty of knife's and pelet guns by my bed and around my room.
