Xbox 360 Servers Shutting Down in November? “Not True” Says Spencer

4.6
Apparently, talk has been going around about Microsoft shutting down servers for the Xbox 360 in November, thus ending multiplayer support for a number of titles. It’s an odd decision, especially considering the number of previous gen titles that still require Xbox Live Gold for multiplayer support, but not necessarily the strangest. After all, the original Xbox’s services were shut down in April 2010, nearly 10 years after that console launched.

Fortunately, it doesn’t seem like this will be the case. According to Xbox boss Phil Spencer when asked on Twitter about the same, “Not true.” Which is as succinct an answer as it gets.

Despite a decade already passing since the Xbox 360 has released, Microsoft continues to report on sales and profits from the same. Recently, Microsoft introduced Xbox 360 backwards compatibility for the Xbox One and updates fans on the newest games to make the jump. So it’s a given that the Xbox 360 isn’t going away any time soon. What are your thoughts? Let us know below.

DeluxeHazard Why in the world would anybody think Microsoft would shut down the Xbox 360's servers? It has only been a few years since the Xbox One was released, that is way too soon to shut the servers down.
