Microsoft Now Allows For Purchase of Separate Xbox One Power Supply

4.5
Until just recently, if your Xbox One was not under warranty, obtaining a replacement power supply brick was impossible. After fan complaints, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb confirmed on Reddit that the option to purchase an additional power supply has been added to Microsoft’s support website.

Owners can ship back their out-of-commission power supply and receive the new one for $35, or simply order a replacement for $50. The Xbox One must be registered on Microsoft’s site before purchase options become available.

This is what Major Nelson had to say after fan’s complaints:

Hey gang, I have an update on this. I have worked w/ the Support team and we’ve enabled the option to purchase additional Xbox One power supply units via https://myservice.xbox.com

I have not had a chance to check it out myself yet – but the team just emailed me to let me know they have added that option to the online tool.

Thanks!

Larry

I find this quite useful. I have always been scared of a power supply getting fried or no longer working, and now I can get an official power supply

Not like you can already buy a original power supply on amazon

This is better then going out buying a brand new Xbox One.

Better than buying an OP replacement from Gamestop.

JRMH honestly, issues like this are why pc gaming is superior... Don't get me wrong, I'm an xbox fanboy, I love cod (up to Ghosts, AW is ass)...

but seriously?? $50 because of something you refuse to make quality product of? I guess if you SOMEHOW mess up your power supply, lol.

Well thunderstorms can fry your power supplies

True, but I think PC will always be better, if they make a console just like a tower, I'd still say PC will beat it. :P , the only problem I have with consoles are that their limited, unlike PCs.
