Microsoft Now Allows For Purchase of Separate Xbox One Power Supply

4.5
Until just recently, if your Xbox One was not under warranty, obtaining a replacement power supply brick was impossible. After fan complaints, Larry “Major Nelson” Hryb confirmed on Reddit that the option to purchase an additional power supply has been added to Microsoft’s support website.

Owners can ship back their out-of-commission power supply and receive the new one for $35, or simply order a replacement for $50. The Xbox One must be registered on Microsoft’s site before purchase options become available.

This is what Major Nelson had to say after fan’s complaints:

Hey gang, I have an update on this. I have worked w/ the Support team and we’ve enabled the option to purchase additional Xbox One power supply units via https://myservice.xbox.com

I have not had a chance to check it out myself yet – but the team just emailed me to let me know they have added that option to the online tool.

Thanks!

Larry

DeluxeHazard_Jr I thought they already did this? i mean why wouldn't they lol

It probably wasn't a priority at the time, they've been busy working on the new dash and backwards compatibility.

I thought the same, although it's so expensive! You can buy them a lot cheaper, but i guess it's Microsoft

Or you can just buy it on eBay or somewhere else for much cheaper :p

koolFISH Don't no why they woundnt just sell then in shops?

Because shops will sell them cheaper and all microsoft want is money, money , money.

Still decent though not complaining.

Pint People need new power supplies already ?

That's what i was thinking, the only way I can think of braking them is by overheating them and if that happened well then people should take a break everyonce in awhile.

OK...good. Now, why don't you work on the next version console of eliminating that extra block completely.

That's awesome I seen on Reddit how people where having issues even getting replacements from them. Hopefully I don't ever need to get a new one but whatever!
