‘Watch Dogs’ Will Punish Players Unless They Are Always Online

4
Online integration seems to be a big part of the Watch Dogs experience however, it seems you will be punished if you decide to turn off online invasions in the game.

As this picture shows, if you decide to disable online invasions you will be faced with a harsh punishment from Ubisoft stating:

“By disabling Online Invasions you will not be available for other players to invade, but you will also not be able to participate in Online Hacking and Tailing. Your Notoriety will be reset to zero and any Notoriety Skills you have unlocked will be lost.

Do you want to disable Online Invasions?

It seems that the always online feature is becoming more and more prevalent in modern games such as Need For Speed: Rivals and now Watch Dogs.

We were originally going to see the always online feature in the Xbox One but during the reveal the backlash from the Xbox community had that decision overturned pretty quickly.

What do you think of this online “feature” from Ubisoft? Does it bother you? Will if effect your choice to play Watch Dogs online or not?

What else were you expecting from a game that's suppose to seamlessly fuse multiplayer and single player together? Not really fair to say it's a bad game when obviously the xp from doing things that require multiplayer will no longer count towards your notoriety (Ubisoft can't track everything in each game so that's why it has to reset the unlocks).

I think SP and MP should never be combined, it seems like horrible idea to me!

I still want to play this game online. What if you lose connection during a game session, will you still be penalized? Seems like there's still a lot to figure out with some of these always online games.

I've been told Watch Dogs is awesome. But reading about the online, pushes me more and more towards not getting it. I don't know though, I'll just have to wait and see.

multiplayer is good but sometime you need a break from playing online

Deranged Single player games are the past anyways.. Whenever people are playing a Single Player Only game they are online in a party chat with other people i love that its becoming a Multiplayer paradise if you want to play offline youre an idiot or youre old

integrating MP into SP is possibly the worst thing you can do to a game. some people enjoy sp more than mp for good reasons too. i'm not saying the mp is bad but for the time being i don't want others to ruin my sp experience.

also if someone enjoys sp they aren't stupid or old.

I personally think this isn't a good idea, but it makes since for the game, considering the theme.

Have you ever played The Elder Scrolls or Fallout?
If you went into party chat while playing those games than I'm sorry, but you are simply stupid. And old? Let me guess, you think you have to be 40 to enjoy a single-player game? How old are you for that matter?

You can just unplug your ethernet lead/turn of router while playing single-player or if you get invaded... Worked for me when I have been AFK and got back to a 95% download... This would only annoy me of I actually played the online game-modes a lot but I hardly do. Singleplayer if more than enough for now

Sorry this is stupid. To be honest it becomes annoying when I'm trying to do something and some kid attempts to hack me.
