‘Watch Dogs’ Will Punish Players Unless They Are Always Online

4
Online integration seems to be a big part of the Watch Dogs experience however, it seems you will be punished if you decide to turn off online invasions in the game.

As this picture shows, if you decide to disable online invasions you will be faced with a harsh punishment from Ubisoft stating:

“By disabling Online Invasions you will not be available for other players to invade, but you will also not be able to participate in Online Hacking and Tailing. Your Notoriety will be reset to zero and any Notoriety Skills you have unlocked will be lost.

Do you want to disable Online Invasions?

It seems that the always online feature is becoming more and more prevalent in modern games such as Need For Speed: Rivals and now Watch Dogs.

We were originally going to see the always online feature in the Xbox One but during the reveal the backlash from the Xbox community had that decision overturned pretty quickly.

What do you think of this online “feature” from Ubisoft? Does it bother you? Will if effect your choice to play Watch Dogs online or not?

Thats Stupid when your playing the campaign u get **** invaded

That sucks, I don't really like being invaded but its part of the game so deal with it.

An easy solution for this if you don't want to lose your notoriety or stats is just to remove your router connection of your console or PC. I've already done this myself so my points are kept.

This shouldn't be added what so ever. Didn't even think about buying this game.

They shouldve kept the single player and multiplayer separate. Sometimes I feel like playing the game by myself, and I'm sure other people do too sometimes.

this is really pathetic they shouldn't have to do this lol

Well, I can confirm I got rid of this game for a refund since I kept having FPS issues on my gaming PC that annoyed me and this tipped the scale. I buy games like this to be able to avoid online so I can just chill and play a game freely.

Nope, not the case anymore. I guess I won't be getting this until they sort this out. This won't stick for long as it's a really pathetic issue people will "riot" against.

El_Oso_Blanco Sorry this is stupid. To be honest it becomes annoying when I'm trying to do something and some kid attempts to hack me.

It really is. It's so bad that I turned it off pretty much my first day playing. I can't deal with them always hacking me and trying to get root access to me.

I know right. I have zero interest in the online part at all.
