‘Watch Dogs’ Will Punish Players Unless They Are Always Online

4
Online integration seems to be a big part of the Watch Dogs experience however, it seems you will be punished if you decide to turn off online invasions in the game.

As this picture shows, if you decide to disable online invasions you will be faced with a harsh punishment from Ubisoft stating:

“By disabling Online Invasions you will not be available for other players to invade, but you will also not be able to participate in Online Hacking and Tailing. Your Notoriety will be reset to zero and any Notoriety Skills you have unlocked will be lost.

Do you want to disable Online Invasions?

It seems that the always online feature is becoming more and more prevalent in modern games such as Need For Speed: Rivals and now Watch Dogs.

We were originally going to see the always online feature in the Xbox One but during the reveal the backlash from the Xbox community had that decision overturned pretty quickly.

What do you think of this online “feature” from Ubisoft? Does it bother you? Will if effect your choice to play Watch Dogs online or not?

That does suck that they want you to stay online all the time but online invasions are pretty fun

Zips I think thats a bit shocking. If someone doesnt want to play online, they should just be allowed to stay offline. They shouldn't be punished for it and reset skills etc. Stupid.

i know its abit stupid right

That is an unfair thing to do

I think thats unfair, because what about if you just want to play the campaign and you dont want people invaded you as you just want to get the campaign done.

It kind of makes sense. Why should you be able to invade but they cant invade you

That's pretty stupid. If you turn off online invasions you get punished.

Knih Well, I can confirm I got rid of this game for a refund since I kept having FPS issues on my gaming PC that annoyed me and this tipped the scale. I buy games like this to be able to avoid online so I can just chill and play a game freely.

Nope, not the case anymore. I guess I won't be getting this until they sort this out. This won't stick for long as it's a really pathetic issue people will "riot" against.

FPS issues on a PC? Returned the game to retail? Dude, BS. Nobody takes back PC games anymore (at least not where I live). Plus why buy a game that's been advertised as a seamless singleplayer and multiplayer experience if you want to play alone? Sounds more like a personal hate rant more than anything actually gameplay related.

slayerz43 An easy solution for this if you don't want to lose your notoriety or stats is just to remove your router connection of your console or PC. I've already done this myself so my points are kept.

So basically you play in offline mode?
