Start menu due to make much awaited return in Windows 8.1 update

4.7
When Windows 8 first rolled onto the scene many users were bamboozled with the removal of the start menu but now they can rejoice. In a upcoming update to Windows 8.1 the start menu will be returning contrary to recent murmurs that it would take until Windows 9 to make it's return. A additional tweak in the future update will be the ability for users to run modern applications in a windows environment as opposed to only metro.

How do you feel about the start menu making a return?

Seems like a smart move for Microsoft. It was a main reason why a lot of people dislike Windows 8 so hopefully it will make a lot of people happy for Microsoft's sake.

Event Windows XP was by far the greatest OS. I wish they used it a an example to get rid of these crap Windows 8 and make it better.

Windows 7 was more superior to XP in almost every aspect. But I see where you're coming from.

I wish XP would still get supported, I highly prefer it over any OS. But oh well, glad the start menu is making a return, I don't even know why they took it out in the first place.
