Xbox One controller working on PC due to modder

4.7
A tinkerer, Lucas Assis, has developed a tool and posted a video detailing how he was able to enable a Xbox One controller to function properly on a PC. Lucas has stated that he intends to make a Mac and Linux version available sometime in the future. This solution should only be seen as a stopgap until Microsoft officially provides drivers for the Xbox One controller on PC.

Anyone keen on trying the tool out will need to download this RAR file and follow the steps shown in the video.

It works, and it works great, but it's not really that easy to install. It involves installing another two programs, both which are open-source and adware free.Lucas Assis

Anyone who wants to install this workaround will need to download this file and watch the video below for complete instructions.

Official support from Microsoft for the Xbox One controller on PC is slated to be released sometime in 2014.

daRealRush Microsoft should've been able to have integrated this into PC's. But no they didn't so, this guy had to do it. He must be pretty smart in-order to do this.

It's not as complicated as you think especially since it's very similar to the 360 controller.

but yeah I see what you mean. :D

OBE I honestly prefer WASD, console controllers just say where you are.

Depends on the game. Games like GTA and other games based with cars (Dirt, Trials Evolution, etc.) really should be using a controller. I own a wired gamepad for that reason. But for games like Fallout, Rust, DayZ, etc. the keyboard is better. (well in my opinion at least then)

Yeah I own a wired gamepad for fifa and driving/racing games.

Better just to wait for the drivers tbh. This is too much effort for not a lot.

That's pretty cool, I've used my 360 controller for a few games and I like the feel of the Xbox One controller so I might go ahead and get a controller to do this.
