DayZ sales have passed 800,000 in under one month

DayZ sales have already passed Bohemia Interactive’s “very ambitious” plans for the survival horror sandbox.

Writing on Reddit, creator Dean “Rocket” Hall said he would have considered 250,000 sales in three months a success.

“So to move nearly 800,000 in under a month is crazy,” he said, revealing the latest sales figures.

The new milestone follows several others; DayZ managed 88,000 sales in tis first 12 hours, 172,200 sales in its first 24 hours, and topped the Steam charts at Christmas on the back of 400,000 sales in its first week.

“We’ll be finalising our roadmap in mid January, but it is safe to say that this kind of result will be having a very positive effect on that roadmap,” Hall added.

DayZ, commonly referred to as “DayZ standalone” to distinguish it from the ArmA mod it originated as, is currently in early access alpha on Steam. Hall has described it as in a very rough state and for hardcore fans only, but it has been well-received anyway. It’s one of our most anticipated games of 2014.

I'm sure the game will be improved greatly. Hopefully they can put the money generated from sales to good use

Seriously considering getting this game, and have been told to my multiple people. Seem's good, but not a fan on PC gaming.

Correct, you do have to pay ( 20GBP, not sure about US currency), however when the full game is released you get it for free, and you'll most lightly be saving money by getting it now as when its fully released the price may be higher.

This is great. I've heard a lot about this game and it looks awesome. I have a good enough PC to run it, so i may think about getting it now as I will be looking to play this for a long time. I'd also like to see it develop though the stages, so i may pick it up on steam soon.

If you have a PC that can run it that may be a smart thing to do. It's really the 'must have' game for PC gamers right now

A-10 Dayz is an amazing game, i recommend Dayz standalone or Dayz mod to anyone.


I would suggest that people buy the standalone if they are actually looking to seriously get into DayZ though. While a little buggy now it will certainly improve in the future.
