Xbox One won't have Twitch gameplay streaming at launch

4.8
Gameplay streaming won't be enabled for the Xbox One Twitch app when Microsoft's console launches this week. and Twitch says it's aiming to include the feature "during the first part of 2014." It's a vague window that contrasts sharply against the launch-enabled streaming on PlayStation 4.

"We are working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community," said Twitch, "So while this feature won't be available right away, we'll let you know as soon as it is ready."

The Twitch app itself will be available when the Xbox One launches across 13 markets on Friday, November 22, but only to Gold subscribers. At launch you can watch Twitch's complete catalog, and use Snap to play games and view Twitch content at the same time.

It also features 10 achievements for those who really love to Twitch, including one for watching 100 hours of live Twitch video, and another for tuning in to live video for at least one minute in every hour of a complete day. We'd say you'd need to be pretty dedicated to grab that second one, but surely you just need to be prepared to binge game and Snap - or leave the Xbox One on. Maybe we're missing the point here.

What, but what about when someone wants to live stream? Stupid idea MS, stupid idea.

HxD I really wish they had Twitch

I'm glad they won't be having it at launch.
There would be WAY to many streams of very boring gameplay with no facecam or mic.

It isn't that big of a deal.
If someone is going to dump $500 into a console, they will have a computer they could watch twitch on.

Hopefully they will add it in eventually, i would love to be able to stream some of my Game play

Sphinq Personally i don't see many people using it anyway. Otherwise Twitch will just have 100,000's of people streaming CoD which would ruin their site.

The PS4 has it as well as Uplay.

I'm surprised by this as MS has made a bit issue of streaming and TV usage so it's interesting that you can't use Twitch with it now.

Sometimes I wonder what the people in these offices do and what their thinking!

Possible that they have seen how well the PS4s twitch integration has been recieved and they wanted to make tweaks to ensure they are at least providing an equal experience?

raefon what's more pathetic is you get achievements for using an App.

Next it will add achievements for the amount of friends you add, linking to Facebook, watching certain tv programs.....etc etc

Seems like someone use to be a Boy Scout and wants a merit badge for everything you do.
Why not? People want to be rewarded, and that's what they will be getting...

Gossip Thats weird because yesterday I saw somebody on Twitch streaming Dead Rising 3 from their Xbox One?
That's probably because it's still possible to stream using a PVR...

Dreams np by the time i get my xbox the xbox 2 will be out -_-

If they call it the Xbox Two i will legitimately laugh

Haha that would be a nice name tho. I wouldn't mind. But if you can't afford the x1 for 10 years... then you have a serious money issue.
Amen to that. And I agree. I think it would be a nice name.

I agree. It just won't be the same...
