Xbox One won't have Twitch gameplay streaming at launch

4.8
Gameplay streaming won't be enabled for the Xbox One Twitch app when Microsoft's console launches this week. and Twitch says it's aiming to include the feature "during the first part of 2014." It's a vague window that contrasts sharply against the launch-enabled streaming on PlayStation 4.

"We are working to ensure the initial Twitch on Xbox One broadcasting experience meets the expectations of the Twitch community," said Twitch, "So while this feature won't be available right away, we'll let you know as soon as it is ready."

The Twitch app itself will be available when the Xbox One launches across 13 markets on Friday, November 22, but only to Gold subscribers. At launch you can watch Twitch's complete catalog, and use Snap to play games and view Twitch content at the same time.

It also features 10 achievements for those who really love to Twitch, including one for watching 100 hours of live Twitch video, and another for tuning in to live video for at least one minute in every hour of a complete day. We'd say you'd need to be pretty dedicated to grab that second one, but surely you just need to be prepared to binge game and Snap - or leave the Xbox One on. Maybe we're missing the point here.

doges At least they will have it in the future

That's the bright side! Hope time will fly then...

Sphinq Personally i don't see many people using it anyway. Otherwise Twitch will just have 100,000's of people streaming CoD which would ruin their site.

I think lot's of users will use the Twitch app. To stream gameplay and show their friends stuff etc...

I could actually see a good amount of people wanting to use this, even if it's to show their gameplay to friends

It shouldn't pose too many problems as long as they bring it in eventually. It is a feature that i would much like to see with the console

Dreams np by the time i get my xbox the xbox 2 will be out -_-

If they call it the Xbox Two i will legitimately laugh

Haha that would be a nice name tho. I wouldn't mind. But if you can't afford the x1 for 10 years... then you have a serious money issue.

Thatll be cool, a Twitch feature. Maybe then I can finally stream something worth seeing. Rather than having it lag :P
