PSN maintenance planned for September 25

Sony has announced plans to execute scheduled maintenance on the US PlayStation Network on September 25.

The maintenance is scheduled for a six-hour slot from 10:15pm to 4:15pm Pacific Time (1:15pm to 7:15pm Eastern).

"If you've signed onto PSN over the past few days, you'll still be able to play online and access apps during this period, but you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management as these services will be unavailable," explains Sony.

"Be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during this maintenance window," it adds.

Sony has confirmed this week's US PlayStation Plus update, which sees the addition of Rayman Origins to the Instant Game Collection.

Yh it doesn't go down for maintenace, Microsoft jsut let it break and then it goes down for a day or two at a time where only a few people can sign in. Don't tell me some crap that this never happens because it happens every 5 months or so at least.


Your connection must be bad if you can't sign in every 5 mins, Xbox gets a bit laggy every 3 or 4 months for a day but as long as you have a below adverage connection you can connect to partys & games without a problem
At least xbox dose't get hacked & go down for 2 1/2 months

Everyone claims this makes PS3 worse than Xbox. Xbox goes down every few months for a day or two due to maintenace or not. And don't bring up that crap about PSN being hacked. It's not like stood by and let them hack it. And for your info, I play on an xbox.

Xbox does have occasional down time, probably about once every 6 months.

Also, at least PSN are letting their customers know


Microsoft usually does tell it's customers when the 360 will be down for maintenance. If you check it's site it will tell you, but they usually tell you the day of.

Um xbox has not gone down but like once or twice in the last 2 yrs while ps3 has gone down many times for days even weeks at a time


Where do you get your information from? I have been playing PS3 for over 3 years and it went down once when it got hacked that is only time it has been down other than maintenance.

At least Xbox LIVE has never gone down since the scheduled maintenance in the summer of 2009. There may be some lag at times, but it never fully goes out like PSN does. Plus, Xbox LIVE has never been hacked.

No point even replying if you have to use the hack that took place.. It was 2/ 3 years ago get over it. PSN has never gone down either besides when the hack took place some services have gone down but if you're signed in you can still play online (lag free) so yeah seems your point is rather invalid.


My point can never be invalid, considering PSN was actually hacked and all of its customers had their PRIVATE information leaked. Has that ever happened on XBL? No.


The xbox 360 has been hacked in the passed. To the extent of the ps3, no but it has still been hacked. I do agree that the ps3's security is far less superior to the 360 even though though the ps3 has less people on it.

I could not agree more with this Xbox does have downtime and at least PS are letting their customers know you don't get much from Microsoft they jsut take it down and then put an announcement out.

Because has to fix stuff.....
Most of xbl is fixed because of the dashboard updates they give


Either way at least we know the companies are fixing their services wether they go down or not this doesen;t really bother me I will just wait it out and see what they have changed.
