PSN maintenance planned for September 25

4.7
Sony has announced plans to execute scheduled maintenance on the US PlayStation Network on September 25.

The maintenance is scheduled for a six-hour slot from 10:15pm to 4:15pm Pacific Time (1:15pm to 7:15pm Eastern).

"If you've signed onto PSN over the past few days, you'll still be able to play online and access apps during this period, but you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management as these services will be unavailable," explains Sony.

"Be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during this maintenance window," it adds.

Sony has confirmed this week's US PlayStation Plus update, which sees the addition of Rayman Origins to the Instant Game Collection.

Gotta_Have_It I don't play my ps3 at all anymore, but at least they tell you when it is going down unlike xbox

Xbox does give you warning on when they are going to do maintenance. Quite a bit of them actually. From their website to their twitter.

The maintenance has already happened and it went by quickly.
Good thing for me, I was busy the entire time it was down, lol.

I'm currently online on my PS3 so I guess they haven't started yet, I wonder what they're fixing.

Excluding PS3 maintenance, PS3 still goes down, more than Xbox.

PS3 hasen't gone down for ages, I can't remember last time I got signed out.

It's not exactly going down, it's maintenance. They didn't tell you about the 2 weeks down time, a few years ago. Also, when Xbox goes down (which isn't often, unlike PS3 maintenance) it's not maintenance, it's just issues with the network.

Breading atleast sony gives PSN user a fair warning about maintenance

I agree,
I hate how Xbox live goes down unexpectedly.
All you hypocritical kids. It's not like any service can prevent an unexpected downtime. ANY service in the world for that matter. I don't see you mentioning the fact that the Playstation service went COMPLETELY OFFLINE for 2-3 months. Like I said, no service can prevent it.

Xbox doesn't go out much, and when it does, Microsoft, tries there best to fix it. And, yeah, when Playstation Network has to go down, Sony tells there players about it. Stop arguing, and just get on with your day!!!

Yeah but when they go down they have no notice and it is usually for a extended amount of time.

@SliceFX Difference was Sony did not take the Network down hackers did that is unexpected but at least they kept their customers up to date with everything that was happening. I agree that they should of added more security but at the end of the day Sony contacts their customers to let them know what they are planning to do Microsoft just shuts it off and then puts it back online without telling anybody its like what the hell and then they tell you what they have fixed or blah blah blah.

I hope the PS4 servers will be better so their are no more assaults on the servers.
