PSN maintenance planned for September 25
The maintenance is scheduled for a six-hour slot from 10:15pm to 4:15pm Pacific Time (1:15pm to 7:15pm Eastern).
"If you've signed onto PSN over the past few days, you'll still be able to play online and access apps during this period, but you may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access the PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home, and Account Management as these services will be unavailable," explains Sony.
"Be sure to sign in now if you wish to access the Network during this maintenance window," it adds.
Sony has confirmed this week's US PlayStation Plus update, which sees the addition of Rayman Origins to the Instant Game Collection.

Because Sony does little one through out the year and Microsoft does one big one yearly

At least there is a heads up. Xbox goes down often too, especially if there is an exploit.
Um xbox has not gone down but like once or twice in the last 2 yrs while ps3 has gone down many times for days even weeks at a time
Where do you get your information from? I have been playing PS3 for over 3 years and it went down once when it got hacked that is only time it has been down other than maintenance.
That is the point he was trying to make.
What was the point he was trying to make? He said PS3 has gone down many of times for days even weeks.. Now sorry but as a daily PS3 user it has never gone down for more than 1 day with a maintenance, so when he says "days even weeks" he must be referring to something else.
At least Xbox LIVE has never gone down since the scheduled maintenance in the summer of 2009. There may be some lag at times, but it never fully goes out like PSN does. Plus, Xbox LIVE has never been hacked.
/end
No point even replying if you have to use the hack that took place.. It was 2/ 3 years ago get over it. PSN has never gone down either besides when the hack took place some services have gone down but if you're signed in you can still play online (lag free) so yeah seems your point is rather invalid.

ODSTB52AggieNikolaiLoverG935Aggie I'm just glad that they give people with the console an update on when they will not be fully operational. Unlike the Xbox where they randomly just update it out of no where.
Idk where you get your information. I always know an update is coming out because Microsoft alerts people about it. Take it from a Xbox basher to not know what he's talking about xD
I've had an Xbox for 5 years and never have once had an alert of when they are going to be down.
i've had xbox for 5 years and mine has never "randomly" went down due to an update lol xbox doesn't go "down" for updates when you turn it on it just says theres an update and you dl it and its all fine lol
My friend on Xbox just discussed this with me. Where are you seeing the planned updates for XBL? He's been on there for 10 years, I'm at 8.
Why are people thinking the xbox just randomly goes offline (the entire network aka XBL) for hours like what sony is doing xbox doesn't ever go offline like that only when you are downloading the update but once its done you can go back on
