PlayStation 4 friends limit supports up to 2000 friends

It's getting down to the details now as we head closer to the next-gen console launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Sony sliding in today that the PS4 will let users have a couple thousand friends on their buddy list.

"The PlayStation 4 has party chat and, I can also tell you, that your PlayStation 4 friends list will let you have up to 2,000 friends," said Hollie Bennett from Access PlayStation in a video released this morning.

Microsoft had previously stated the Xbox One will allow up to a thousand friends.

Both Playstation & Xbox have a good high number for adding friends. I hope there isn't a slight war made on the difference as I think it's fair to say that most people will not add over 1000 people to their accounts and 1000+ is good for YouTubers and professional gamers as they never have enough space for getting everyone they play with on! Overall I'd say good job on both sides!

Vancouver_Canucks Good for the Youtube community but when people like me have about 25-30 friends on their list currently, it wont be put to use.


I'd figure that would be good for the YouTube community, but I'm not even sure if YouTubers what that many friends. It would be a pain to look for specific people. Probably the guy would get spammed and such as soon as he got online. To be honest, that many friends even for a YouTuber is unnecessary.

To be honest, there's no real need for this amount of friends on your list.

I only add people who I actually know in real life, or a select few who I do play with online quite often.

The 1000 friend limit set by Microsoft will cater to anyone with basic needs anyway.
