PlayStation 4 friends limit supports up to 2000 friends

It's getting down to the details now as we head closer to the next-gen console launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Sony sliding in today that the PS4 will let users have a couple thousand friends on their buddy list.
"The PlayStation 4 has party chat and, I can also tell you, that your PlayStation 4 friends list will let you have up to 2,000 friends," said Hollie Bennett from Access PlayStation in a video released this morning.
Microsoft had previously stated the Xbox One will allow up to a thousand friends.
Why? This is ridiculous. The Xbox limit is 1000 I think and that's crazy but this is double crazy. My friends list right now has 45 people. I used to have 100 but I talked to so few of them that I just cleaned them out.
Peer inb4 sony peps say this is a awesome feature and xbox sucks because it doesn't have this feature :L

lol mate i'm not hating, it's cool to have that many friends but most of the sony fans i've seen would say something like what i just said. I ain't bashing on ps4 dw i like em both

LMAO. What makes them think people will manage to have 2000 friends? Let alone 1000, or even 500. People get deleted everyday so it will be hard to manage your friends unless you send every person you meet a request.
