PlayStation 4 friends limit supports up to 2000 friends

It's getting down to the details now as we head closer to the next-gen console launches of PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, with Sony sliding in today that the PS4 will let users have a couple thousand friends on their buddy list.
"The PlayStation 4 has party chat and, I can also tell you, that your PlayStation 4 friends list will let you have up to 2,000 friends," said Hollie Bennett from Access PlayStation in a video released this morning.
Microsoft had previously stated the Xbox One will allow up to a thousand friends.
This is only great for people who are big names in the gaming community and want to play with their fans and subscribers, otherwise there is really no need to have this many friends.
That is insane. I don't think that I'll have more than 300 friends. And with 2000 friends, wouldn't it get kind of annoying to see; 'SwagSniper69' is online, and others like every minute? Well if you have a lot of friends you can probably choose an option to help with that. But still, it's awesome.
Ranzee They should be a option if you want to extend your friends list because i don't think anyone needs 2000!

Yea but what would you what 2000 friends for i can understand like 300 but 2000 there could be like 1200 people on at once and your notifications would be spammed
Mortar 2,000 friends!? That is unbelievable. Whilst so many are supported, who really is going to fill their friends list with 2,000 people? As for Microsoft supporting 1,000 friends with the Xbox One, that seems more sane.
LOL yea 2000 is a little over doing it. 1000 sounds san but not really to many people would have that lemit. because think about it you could have like 500 people online and everytime you sign it you get like 50 online notices
