DICE 'investigating' cross-gen stat transfers for Battlefield 4

It looks as though EA's back-end server tech may benefit audiences other than the Madden/FIFA crowd: DICE is "investigating" the possibility of transferring player data from current-gen versions of Battlefield 4 to their next-gen cousins, according to the series' official Twitter.

In practice, this sounds similar to the technology that will power such functionality in Madden 25 and FIFA 14, where players that begin their Ultimate Teams on current-gen hardware can transfer their progress to the next-gen, should they ever make the leap. As of yet, no specifics have been given with regards to what kind of BF4 player information may or may not be transferable, should that functionality be added to the game.

I think if they go through with this they should give us the choice to transfer our stats.

I would like that alot seeing as how I dont plan on getting a PS4 till Christmas so what if I buy the game on PS3 play it rank up decide to buy it for PS4 all my stats and stuff are stuck on the PS3 version of the game when I get it for PS4 so I hope they do decide to go through with this.

Well, considering some people won't be able to buy the next gen console. or simply don't want to right off the back, and just buy BF4 for their current console, when they do decide to buy next gen, they'll keep all their progress.
