Fix coming to PS3 4.45 firmware June 27

Earlier this week, PlayStation 3 users began reporting that the most recent firmware update, 4.45, was rendering consoles unusable. Sony has now announced that a fix for the malfunctioning firmware will be released on Thursday, June 27. A post on the US PlayStation 3 support forum reads:

We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Any further updates to the issue will be made on the same forum thread, so affected users may want to add it to their bookmarks.

You make a good point lol, do you think they thought of this?


I'm sure you can download an update from the computer and then store it on a USB or something and then update it after plugging it into the console.


I hope so... my PS3 won't boot up the OS or something

Good they are still regularly updating the firmware still with ps4 on the way.

Aggie wow what else could go wrong with the PS3. this is what i'm afraid of for the PS4


theres no need to be afraid of the ps4, thats why there a price to play online so it will take care of the costs for the maintenance


or sony could pocket the money and keep their services the same quality it's at...


If you're trying to criticize based on this slight mistake, then PlayStation fanboys are going to have the time of their lives counter arguing, because we all know who has made a lot of mistakes recently, don't we?


Xbox One has made quite a lot of mistakes I will say that. At least they finally listened to the feedback and fixed a few things. I hate when fanboys get picky at each other over the smallest of things.
