Fix coming to PS3 4.45 firmware June 27

Earlier this week, PlayStation 3 users began reporting that the most recent firmware update, 4.45, was rendering consoles unusable. Sony has now announced that a fix for the malfunctioning firmware will be released on Thursday, June 27. A post on the US PlayStation 3 support forum reads:

We have identified the issue related to the PlayStation 3 software update (version 4.45) that impacted a small number of PS3 systems earlier this week. A new PS3 system software update is planned to be released on June 27 that resolves the issue. Thank you for your patience and understanding and we apologize for the inconvenience.

Any further updates to the issue will be made on the same forum thread, so affected users may want to add it to their bookmarks.

Aggie wow what else could go wrong with the PS3. this is what i'm afraid of for the PS4


theres no need to be afraid of the ps4, thats why there a price to play online so it will take care of the costs for the maintenance


or sony could pocket the money and keep their services the same quality it's at...


If you're trying to criticize based on this slight mistake, then PlayStation fanboys are going to have the time of their lives counter arguing, because we all know who has made a lot of mistakes recently, don't we?

Soon, happens to still be 4 days away and people have had bricked consoles for about 5 days now, hopefully Sony will do better on PS4.


I'm sure they will be looking over the PS4 to make sure nothing like this happens.


can look over stuff as much as you want, people will always find a way, no matter the console / hardware inquestion


True but I mean to make sure that there is no major flaws at release. I'm sure there will still be problems with it but better to look it over and make sure.

Console-Support LOL, PS cant even update there own consoles with out braking there own systems on them, God help the people, who are buying the PS4 (Big Mistake)


Xbox has done the same... i think it was last years piracy updates for the DVD drives meant some Xbox 360 Phats couldnt actually play a majority if any new games at all , granted due to it being hardware related if informed within a specific time frame they actually gave users a xbox 360 slim.
