MS Accused of Monitoring Reddit, Posting Positive Xbox One Comments
The user commented "Just thought I'd share something interesting that happened to me this week. I work for a marketing firm in Redmond that has a contract with Microsoft. I can't say specifically which division, but suffice it to say we are not involved with the Xbox."
During a tour the marketing firm was given of Microsoft's complex "We had a semi-formal meeting in one of the larger meeting rooms, followed by lunch and some more touring. At one point we visited one of the Xbox officies, and our guide went off to find a particular manager for us to meet. He was gone for a while, se we were left hanging in the middle of a fairly hectic office for several minutes.
"Just nearby were two guys chatting at one of their PCs, and they caught my attention because they were on Reddit! I realized they were actually talking business."
The Reddit user says the Microsoft employees discussed getting hits on some of their submissions and decided that they should spend the vast majority of their time on Reddit's main gaming forum, /r/gaming. According to the claims the Microsoft employees were downvoting comments en masse and posting positive comments concerning Xbox One.
According to the Redditor's manager Microsoft have just hired a large number of PR staff to perform 'reputation management' for Xbox One. As the name suggests, reputation management essentially involves putting out a good front about a product or company.
There's no way to verify these claims but they're pretty damning if true.
Last night, Microsoft detailed controversial measures relating to online connectivity and used games for Xbox One. Microsoft has cancelled it's E3 media roundtable and one-on-one interviews with their executives next week.

There Microsoft employees ffs guys! They work for a company that is proud of what they have created, I would hire people to keep my products reputation too! People do not understand the capabilities of the Xbox One, they are talking it down as a bad console because Microsoft chose to show the social capabilities of the console to the press instead of the gaming capabilities. Microsoft knows how to work the media, they show the social stuff to the press and keep the gaming elements for E3. E3 is probably the biggest gaming expo in the world, of course Microsoft would save the gaming elements for E3.

Submit This is business, I work for a small marketing company and this is regular practice for almost all the big companies. Online perception is an important aspect of the gaming market, Sony and Nintendo have almost certainly been doing this since the launch of their current gen consoles.
Wow, didn't think of this, i guess if what they are saying is fact not fiction, then i dont know why there is a problem.

I really don't see the problem. Unless what they are saying is false then that's the only problem

Medion I would think Sony would be stupid if they are not currently doing this!
I agree. Sony are probably doing the same thing.

SweetTealsGoodExoticWolfsCheeseStuffedPizza You don't see Sony doing this for the PS4. Xbox one, you are one big fat can of fail.
Hating on Xbox why? We don't even know if this is true, don't open your mouth either, SOny has revealed very little so far.
Although I don't agree with him, CheeseStuffedPizza is still cool.
Companies have been doing this for years, it's nothing new and it will continue for many more years! I don't even see why this is seen as news, it's supposed to be NEWs, not something that happened well over 10 years ago!
