Black Ops 2 'on track for record sales' - analyst

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 is on track to achieve record sales, according to Cowen & Company analyst Doug Creutz.

He said in a research note: "Post-holiday sales trends for BO2 have been significantly better than those for last year's Modern Warfare 3, and we expect BO2 to slightly beat the previous franchise high watermark of the original Black Ops on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 platforms across its life cycle."
Activision claimed in December that Black Ops 2 grossed $1 billion worldwide in its first 15 days of availability, a milestone reached 24 hours faster than 2011's Modern Warfare 3.

The shooter went on to be the best-selling game of last year in both the UK and the US

Activision social media manager Dan Amrich said last week that he expects 2013's entry in the Call of Duty series, which is rumoured to Modern Warfare 4, to be revealed no later than E3 in early June.

-Dream I love COD and all, but they will fail unless they stop with the same stuff every year. They should also just let go of the current campaign. I hate the MW series past MW2, it should of ended there IMO. Black Ops campaign is alright, but it feels like it should also end where it is now. Even though the BO2 campaign in my opinion was more branched off from BO than MW's missions are. So this year I hope it's a new campaign with new faces to meet and support.


It doesn't seem like they will fail if the sales keep increasing.

This is sad treyarch always does a half ass job on their games and it sells if anything I would boycott treyarch till they change and actually take time to make a good game.

That's exactly what it is too, people just eating up the same trash year after year. We have to prove they need to advance or die off. /rant
