Rumor - Next gen consoles may allow developers to self patch games
The entire process means it is quite expensive to publish patches on these platforms. The rumor going around is that on the PS4 and the next xbox developers will be able to self-publish patches due to the devices both having been built with the well established PC x86 architecture. Keep checking back for details on their rumors here at TheTechGame!

Yikes
Yeah, there would be a lot of glitches
no? If developers could self patch games there would be little to no glitches... Yes, there will be glitches but they will last probably at max a week.

MazurSOGMazurTopNotchKiNGHoytTopNotchKiNG Most people don't know it yet, but there will be a Minecraft: Xbox 720 Edition. With the advancements in console hardware, the new consoles will be built 80% More like a pc instead of an actual "console". This being so, it will allow more capabilities to the developers, they will be able to publish updates as often as they want, thus allowing the speee of updates to come quicker. The new consoles will be built like PCs so less pc elements will have to be converted over to console. (Ex. The Switcher 2) 4J Studios will be able to publish same-day updates with the pc version of Minecraft. The two platforms will be closer than ever, and mod support along with texture packs will be a most definite feature.
4J Studio's don't develop the PC version, The PC version will always be 6+Months ahead of the console version
Your completely wrong, the xbox 360 version will always be 6 months behind the pc version. Also I wasnt saying 4J studios developed the pc version, I was saying that with the console enhancements the 720 version and the pc version will be synced.
The PC version will be 6+ months ahead and the console version 6+ months behind are basically the same exact statement.
plus, with developers being able to self patch games eventually the updates will release faster on the console and the console will eventually be up to date with the PC version
I thought that the console version was catching up to PC, then they would become even?
right now i believe the console version is currently 6 months or so behind the PC version, would assume if developers had the ability to self patch games then the console would catch up to the PC eventually.
There would be no more glitches

Yeah, thats bad.
It's only bad if you like to glitch and not play the game how it's supposed to be played.

games like CoD aren't fun to play when there are people modding in the lobbies.
