Report: Next Xbox to "kill" pre-owned, requires always on net connection

4.6
Sources claim to have word that the next-gen Xbox will require an always-on internet connection and will block the use of pre-owned games.

The source says that another source “with first hand experience” of the console adds that games will still be buyable, which are supplied on 50GB Blu-ray discs. It is understood that disc games will use an activation code.

So, no more going to the shops and buying cheap second-hand games? There has to be more people who think this is a bad idea by Microsoft.

Honestly, Sony has said they wont be doing this, and if Microsoft is, then that is a console seller for me. PS4 all the way.

Such a bad idea , this will ruin gaming for those who cant afford the big name games when they come out or even any game at all

That's a terrible idea. I don't want to buy a Game for $60. I'd honestly rather go to a store and buy the same game PREOWNED for like $10-$15 cheaper

I do not like this. I almost live by pre-owned games.

If both sony and microsoft were to do this as sources have claimed. It would almost certainly destroy establishments like gamestop. This is a terrible idea.
