Report: Next Xbox to "kill" pre-owned, requires always on net connection

4.6
Sources claim to have word that the next-gen Xbox will require an always-on internet connection and will block the use of pre-owned games.

The source says that another source “with first hand experience” of the console adds that games will still be buyable, which are supplied on 50GB Blu-ray discs. It is understood that disc games will use an activation code.

So, no more going to the shops and buying cheap second-hand games? There has to be more people who think this is a bad idea by Microsoft.

YourSaver Guys how would this even work? They need internet connection at all times? This is just a rumor they aren't that stupid some people don't even have internet....

Exactly. What if it's someone like an athlete for example, who buys on just to play while on the road on maybe a tour bus or something with no internet. You're telling me they won't be able to play it? What, will the system just not turn on?

This will kill loads of sales for game companies

Just another rumor from unknown sources. Personally I don't think MS is stupid enough to do such a thing and second my first thought was someone from a competing company made the rumor in order to make thier console sound more appealing. Everyone just has to wait tell it's confirmed by MS themselves.

Ocultar That is just stupid. If they do that Im either keeping the slim or going with the ps4.

I agree it's stupid but i heard Sony are doing the same with Ps4

A source also claimed PS4 will be doing the same thing. And in TTG news theres a page about sony and there new technology which will basically do this. Which may be put into the PS4

Let's just say these are rumors and they should be forgotten. Only Sony and Microsoft know what their systems are like. We will have to wait until March and E3 to find out the truth of these next generation consoles.
