Medal of Honor taken 'out of rotation'

4.6
EA recently announced that the Medal of Honor franchise will be taking a break, die to the game's poor performance since the launch of Medal of Honor: Warfighter.

According to EA COO Peter Moore, the poor sales performance means that the publisher will not continue with the series. "The game was solid, but the focus on combat authenticity did not resonate with consumers" Moore said.

It is said that they are taking a break from the game, to think of new ideas for possible sequels.

Just to think that Infinity Ward made one of the Medal of Honor games. (Back when it was known as 2015 Inc).

It's sad to see Medal of Honor be taken out. Back in the PlayStation 2 days this series was amazing and it really got you hooked on, but then Call of Duty came out and simply took it all over. To be honest, even though I own the entire Call of Duty series it was not until Modern Warfare 2 that I got hooked into the online mode. I was always a Halo player, but I enjoyed the Call of Duty campaigns (Specially COD 4).

Even though the series have continued to be super successful, I don't enjoy them anymore as I used to. Modern Warfare 2 was incredibly fun, the game had so many flaws, but it was fun. Treyarch did great with Zombies, but I despised the MP in Black Ops I and II. Modern Warfare 3 was cool but forgettable.

Sad to see Medal of Honor go, I think EA should focus all their team on Battlefield 4. Battlefield 3 has done an amazing job and if done right, it could keep taking players from Call of Duty and finally force Activision to try something new instead of the same stale system.

Activez- The newest MoH was pretty good but I didn't want to waste money on it. It just seemed like if CoD and BF had a baby lol.

That's basically what they tried to do with the game.

DarkDisciple My heart is broken to hear this. I must say, I absolutely loved the idea of combat authenticity in a game. Medal of Honor: Warfighter is one of my favorite games. CoD has corrupted the gaming population so much, nobody will give anything remotely different a bit of a chance. It seems like the only way to sell a shooter is to have repetitive gameplay, and the ability to spin around in circles with a sniper rifle to kill somebody. I guess that's the downside of living in a mindless society.

I agree, if its not similar to call of duty, nobody likes it.

Correction. If it's not as easy as CoD.

I thought the first Medal of Honor was great, but it wasn't really given a chance. I think that is why the sequel has performed so poorly.

It will be quite interesting to see what they come up with during this time. Hopefully something that truly is amazing.
