Rumor: Nintendo Wii U will get an in-game 'Accomplishment' system

4.7
The Nintendo Wii U has been surrounded with mystery since its reveal over a year ago during the 2011 E3 press conference. It’s safe to say that Nintendo has received much warranted heat for their silence, but nothing has changed. Even after 2012’s E3 last June, many people were still left with very little information regarding the actual foundation the Wii U is being built on: Hardware and its on-line platform.

Given that Nintendo has touted “holiday 2012” as the release period, 3 months out we still don’t have an actual date. Store promotion has shown up across the country and even in Australia, but those don’t reveal any concrete release dates either.

hanks to Slightly Mad Studios, we may finally have some insight into something Nintendo has planned for us, and that’s in the form of an in-game reward system similar to the Xbox’s “Achievements” and Playstation 3’s “Trophy” system. In a press release regarding “Project CARS,” Slightly Mad Studios released the rewards list for all three platforms. That’s right, all three, the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U. Not only does this confirm a simulation racer for the Wii U on par with “Forza Motorsports” and “Grand Turismo,” but also answers a deeper question.

As it turns out, the Wii U will apparently have a reward’s based program called “Accomplishments” on par with both Microsoft and Sony’s system. There is no word from Nintendo to verify this, so at the moment this remains rumor. It’s interesting to see more and more information regarding the Wii U pop up from third party’s as the months count down closer to holiday 2013.

I think it's going to be somewhat similar to the PlayStation Vita.

No it doesn't, it's just not up to par with its competing consoles.

now that's a better outlook on the system.

I agree, but I just don't see how you could play COD on those things. :/

It's true though :/

Nintendo seriously needs to come up with a newer console, something way better than the wiiU, if they want to compete with the newer generation of consoles.

no they don't need to come up with ANY more consoles, they've produced a bajillion DS's and they don't need anymore money
