Rumor: Nintendo Wii U will get an in-game 'Accomplishment' system

4.7
The Nintendo Wii U has been surrounded with mystery since its reveal over a year ago during the 2011 E3 press conference. It’s safe to say that Nintendo has received much warranted heat for their silence, but nothing has changed. Even after 2012’s E3 last June, many people were still left with very little information regarding the actual foundation the Wii U is being built on: Hardware and its on-line platform.

Given that Nintendo has touted “holiday 2012” as the release period, 3 months out we still don’t have an actual date. Store promotion has shown up across the country and even in Australia, but those don’t reveal any concrete release dates either.

hanks to Slightly Mad Studios, we may finally have some insight into something Nintendo has planned for us, and that’s in the form of an in-game reward system similar to the Xbox’s “Achievements” and Playstation 3’s “Trophy” system. In a press release regarding “Project CARS,” Slightly Mad Studios released the rewards list for all three platforms. That’s right, all three, the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and Wii U. Not only does this confirm a simulation racer for the Wii U on par with “Forza Motorsports” and “Grand Turismo,” but also answers a deeper question.

As it turns out, the Wii U will apparently have a reward’s based program called “Accomplishments” on par with both Microsoft and Sony’s system. There is no word from Nintendo to verify this, so at the moment this remains rumor. It’s interesting to see more and more information regarding the Wii U pop up from third party’s as the months count down closer to holiday 2013.

Eminent Hey Wii, Guess What? You suck.

No it doesn't, it's just not up to par with its competing consoles.

now that's a better outlook on the system.

oh god no, any bigger and it would be classified as a tablet.

I agree, the size is fine how it is.

Yea but there is a lot of empty space, just saying. I also agree with you though, it'd probably end up a tablet lol.

upd8 So basically they copy Sony's PSP, and then Microsoft's system? Great way to develop a law suit.

Hey, game companies have been stealing each others ideas for years. Did you see that PS3 thing that looks exactly like the Wii remote? My point exactly.

He's got a point there...

And another thing, PS3 stole the "trophies" idea from Microsoft's "achievements".
Ps3 stole a lot of xboxs and wiis s**t but they do have some pretty nice stuff they put in the ps3
So there you go.

Nice quoting. ;)

But yeah, PS3 has some pretty good ideas. Xbox actually stole the idea of the kinect from this old thing that was on the PS2!

And how about the wii! and kinect and playstation move?

Yeah but with a Kinect you don't have to carry a controller but the only bad thing is the games they have for Kinect.

But if playstation made it without the controller then it would be just like kinect ?

that is true, but they are two different systems with two different types of games. I'm talking now about copying ideas, not trends, they steal the model yea, but not the games. It's like stealing someones skin and not there guts. Bad metaphor, or similie, or whatever IDK, but idk.

Different games but same things to do really
