Analyst – GTA V will outsell the next Call of Duty

4.4
EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich has tipped Rockstar to end Call of Duty’s three year streak at the top of the annual charts.“It goes without saying that GTA V will be one of the year’s biggest releases, but I will take it one step farther and say GTA V will be 2012′s biggest release, the analyst told IndustryGamers.

Dont get me wrong, Call of Duty will undoubtedly be huge, as it is every year and it may even grow, but if I had to call what will be a photo finish race, I will go with GTA V.”

Grand Theft Auto IV has shifted over 22 million copies worldwide in the three years since its launch. That said, each of the three most recent Call of Duty releases – 2009′s Modern Warfare 2, 2010′s Black Ops, and 2011′s Modern Warfare 3 – have set entertainment launch records, outselling not just games but films, books and music.

Grand Theft Auto V was formally announced in November, although beyond the first trailer, Rockstar won’t tell us anything.

Rozy It still won't be the next call of duty because most of COD's sales come from kids who are too young to by "M" rated games and thier moms won't let them get GTA but buy's them COD instead.

Cod is "M" rated lol so u fail

Lol exactly what I was thinking when I read that :P

Kootah I will definitely be buying GTA V when it's released and I can honestly say it is so much better than any Call of Duty game. The graphics are better and you can tell there's a lot more time put into GTA than Call of Duty.

Can't wait for the release.

Multiplayer sure as hell ain't better.

how can you even say that? none of us know what will consist of GTA V's multiplayer ... It possible could be better and more addictive and any call of duty and even more addictive!!

Graphics are better, what kind a tree do you smoke? I've seen stick figure animations made by infants with better graphics than GTA

Ok, though this made me laugh a lot, I slightly disagree to both posts. The graphics aren't better. I actually think they're both around the same level. I disagree with the article, though. There's not a chance in hell it'll outsell Call of Duty. I myself have already pre-ordered GTA 5 and I haven't heard of a release date for it yet. But again, it won't outsell CoD and it's millions of teenagers and younger kids. GTA has always had that "I don't want my kid to play this game!" feel to it for it's drug and commonplace references to criminal content. Whereas a wargame like call of duty seemingly has passed through the families not completely restricted.

If GTA doesn't outsell CoD, I'm giving up on gaming.
