Analyst – GTA V will outsell the next Call of Duty

4.4
EEDAR’s Jesse Divnich has tipped Rockstar to end Call of Duty’s three year streak at the top of the annual charts.“It goes without saying that GTA V will be one of the year’s biggest releases, but I will take it one step farther and say GTA V will be 2012′s biggest release, the analyst told IndustryGamers.

Dont get me wrong, Call of Duty will undoubtedly be huge, as it is every year and it may even grow, but if I had to call what will be a photo finish race, I will go with GTA V.”

Grand Theft Auto IV has shifted over 22 million copies worldwide in the three years since its launch. That said, each of the three most recent Call of Duty releases – 2009′s Modern Warfare 2, 2010′s Black Ops, and 2011′s Modern Warfare 3 – have set entertainment launch records, outselling not just games but films, books and music.

Grand Theft Auto V was formally announced in November, although beyond the first trailer, Rockstar won’t tell us anything.

depends on the COD. if its black ops Gta could catch up, you never know.
If its another modern warfare (which i doubt will happen) COD will outsell. Modern Warfare is just a series that wont die anytime soon, however im worried about the rest of CODS future.
Sorry to ramble on about cod...

I think the next GTA might outsell the next CoD, considering the fact that people are actually opening their eyes and are beginning to see that it's been the same for the past 4 and a half years... But I don't know because you know how many closed minded CoD fans their are out their, they always try to compare CoD to other games and start shit with other people online... I guess we won't know which will sell more until the time comes I suppose...

ryanb45 Of course it will outsell the next call of duty, people like and play the ones made my Infinity Ward/Activision rather than Treyarchs...

Not really only the morons on this website prefer IW > Treyarch just cause In treyarch games it takes more skills, more tryhards to play against with, no ghay azz quickscoping which is why i love treyarch, & everything is balanced

TheWhiteHacker Is that why xbox and other gaming companys will have been giving a restriction later this year on high volume of gun usage in games.

Freedom of expression, won't happen.

implying there is freedom online?

Depends, freedom of expression is in the constitution last time i looked, it is supposed to stop the government doing things that would be in violation of it, and no it doesn't do anything to the likes of private companies like Microsoft, the recent removal of toy avatar guns is something which it is NOT supposed to prevent.

and I would want GTA IV to somehow bankrupt the call of duty franchise but it won't. Hopefully it catches up though

I doubt it ever will, its too much of a bad influence with its car jacking and gang culture endorsing environment, CoD is guns yeah but it's mostly army related, if anything it encourages recruits, and no i certainly ain't joking or trolling.
