If someone was to break into my house without my family's permission with the intent to steal or harm my family, they better kill me or im going to kill them PERIOD. And how is a gun not needed?

You assume because something is illegal it doesn't exist in your country? I'm from the UK and have seen my fair share of firearms, From your typical air pistol to fully automatic rifles. If someone is willing to commit a murder surely they will have no qualms about acquiring a weapon.

Possible to kill them without a gun, this is my opinion you all have your own ones also, i just would'nt use a gun, he's breaking into my home i'd want him to go through pain and know he's wrong and he shouldnt do it to ANYONE, thats how i think

Mate, this is a good question. But the only thing I'm a bit confused about is why you're shy to talk to your parents? You're going into sophomore year, you should open up and talk to them about these types of thing, if not you'll always be shy. You got to live up to your fears man. Best advice I can give you.
