I would say it could be due to the fact that the bios is outdated and wouldn't detect the 4460 due to it being a haswell refresh but its posting so that can't be the issue.

Try using the i5's IGPU and booting from the USB, when you say it crashes does it actually crash or are you unable to move the mouse around? As when i did my PC on the installation of windows i had to use another mouse

Update what the bios? I doubt you need to update the bios.

I have actually taken the GPU out as I was getting no display with it and I am currently using the VGA output on the board.

When I boot from USB it shows the screen but it seems darker and has lines across it also cant move mouse and keyboard does nothing either.

Unplug everything,
make sure it goes back in properly this should include:

All sata cables
Ram
Any Fans
Whole GPU card incuding power connections if it has it
Any motherboard power including the main big one

Is it possibly an issue with the CPU? I had a slight issue with the heatsink going on but its fine now.

Your not giveing us much info to work with and what ever in for you do give us a vauge at best.

I'm going to say that it's a BIOS issue. The B85 board won't support that CPU unless its had a very recent BIOS flash.

You could probably update the BIOS to be safe too. If you can get into the BIOS, the. I would download the latest BIpS from MSI and whack it on a USB stick.

In. The BIOS, boot from USB and it should flash
