The thing is with accidents like this the boy was innocent but what happens next time when the kid really did have a gun and killed 10 other kids because a cop didn't want to shoot him everyone would blame the cop :/ tough job

That cop was an idiot, he didn't even question the kid or ask him to drop it.
May he rest in peace

It's pretty hypocritical to call someone an idiot when you comment saying the opposite of what is supposed to have happened.
They asked him to put the gun down twice [according to them.]
I think the kid had a bit of a delayed reaction which cost him his life.

I have that same rifle. If the kid was carrying it in his left hand, there's no way he started raising the gun with one hand. First of all, if it's an all metal gun like mine, with maybe a few exceptions of plastic, there's no way a 13 year old could possibly raise it fast enough so that cops would think he was attempting to shoot them. And the gun is long so it's going to take linger for it to actually rise rather than a pistol. And second of all, If you walking down the street and all of a sudden cops are pointing guns and yelling at you to drop the weapon what do you think a 13 kid is gonna do. He's gonna be startled like any other kid and probably start panicking. And third, I highly doubt they told him to drop it twice, they 're just saying they did because it makes them look like the good guys even though they just ended a 13 year old boys life. Can't sta

The cop made the right move because if it were a real gun the cop could have been killed if he shot and others could of been too.
Also i don't feel bad for the kid, it is common sense not to walk around with a gun, especially if it looks real.
