There are obvious distinctions between homicide, culpable homicide, manslaughter and murder.
If there wasn't then the terms wouldn't even exist.

It's not as simple and black and white as, 'You killed someone therefore life in prison.'
But he killed her, hence why he deserves more than five years. The justice system is abused and therefore is pointless even trying to make a statement and directing it towards me when it doesn't even work like that.,

The difference between culpable homicide and homicide is that culpable homicide is not intentional, it's negligent.

Let's say that you're driving down the road, the light is on red and you get distracted by a screaming child in the back seat. You hit someone crossing the road and kill them.
That wouldn't be homicide. That would be culpable homicide. You negligently murdered someone, the negligence was not paying close enough attention to the road, but you didn't intentionally hit the person.

This is what Oscar was charged with. It doesn't matter if you think he shouldn't have been charged with that.
The lawyers, judge, jury, psychologists and experts in criminal law came to that conclusion based on evidence that we have, and haven't seen, and he was sentenced to 5 years which was well within the average sentencing for the crime.

It's brilliant how Reeva Steenkamp's family are happy with this sentencing, yet random internet people who have never met her or Oscar aren't.

5 years in prison and a 5 year running ban? Don't see how that is fair if that was any of us we would get life in jail or at least 25 years.

No we wouldn't. Mainly because culpable homicide has a maximum sentence of 15 years.

So, Charles Bronson (the criminal, not the actor) gets 32 years in jail for holding up a bank but when someone murders someone , they get about 10 years or less? The justice system is corrupted.

I would agree entirely with you, except he wasn't charged for murder, he was charged for culpable homicide, or manslaughter.
A crime for which 5 years is an average sentence.

Bronson didn't just rob a jewellery store though and get 32 years for it right off the bat.
He did a lot more once he was in jail, and out of jail again for brief periods, which gained him those years.

You don't think he deserved to be put in jail for killing someone really?

You can't just look at it like that. I know someone that is from South Africa and they say that home invasions are common, except the criminals involved put no regard for human life and will kill the innocent civilians even if they get what they want. He didn't have his prosthetic legs on so if it was an intruder then he would not stand a chance.
"not stand a chance" I see what you did there.

But in all seriousness, girlfriend out of bed, bathroom door closed?.. was the bathroom light on?

wait, he killed someone if you kill someone you should be punished no matter what and thats that.
So someone breaks into your home, threatens your life and your families lives, you kill him out of self defense, do you deserve life in prison?

Yes you do deserve to go to prison at the end of the day you still killed someone, It is illegal to kill someone it doesn't matter in what context. Also what burglar would break into a house and decide oh I'm going to go into the bathroom, because that makes sense.

Great potential? Do you know who is was? He was on top of the world, no everything he had is gone, endorsements, sponsors, friends, not to mention. He will probably never compete again from lack of sheer embarrassment and shame.
