The NGP PlayStation Vita will feature both Wi-Fi and 3G functionality, with AT&T being named the official wireless carrier of the new handheld. aHey, cross-game chat is coming to PlayStation ... Vita! It's called "Party," and according to a quick explanation by Kaz Hirai, it allows people to talk to each other through the PlayStation Vita system even while playing different games, using either a headset or the microphone built into the Vita device. We're not used to that name yet. "Vita." Will we ever be?

During Sony's E3 press conference, Jack Tretton announced that the upcoming co-op Star Trek title will feature both PlayStation and Move support. PlayStation network will also host an exclusive downloadable prequel to the game, which will also be 3D and PlayStation Move enabled. Star Trek is scheduled to be released next year. It's not exactly the world's best kept secret, is it? Sony's next handheld officially became the "PlayStation Vita" this afternoon at the company's E3 2011 press conference. EA and Sony just announced a bundle of exclusive extras coming to the PS3 versions of three multiplatform EA games. For SSX, it's an exclusive Mt. Fuji level. For Need for Speed: The Run, it's seven exclusive supercars including the Bugatti Veyron. The PS3 version of Battlefield 3 will come with a free copy of Battlefield 1943.
