Sony has published a previously filed PS5 backwards compatibility patent that corroborates last month’s PS5 spec leak from AMD, detailing how the company is down-clocking the CPU of the console in order to allow it to match that of previous generation PlayStation hardware. God of War creator David Jaffe has revealed that we won’t have to wait long for the PS5 reveal, claiming Sony’s next-generation console will be unveiled in less than four weeks. This ties in with what we’ve heard about the format holder preparing to reveal the machine at a February event in New York City. Here’s what Jaffe had to say during a Twitter exchange:

Today, Square Enix announced that it will be shutting down Mobius Final Fantasy on March 31 in Japan. Meanwhile, a few months later on June 30, the worldwide shutdown will happen. The Japanese publisher and games maker doesn't go into great detail as to why it's doing this, but it's presumably because it's costing considerably more money to support than it's bringing in. Microsoft is really good at promoting what games are coming to Xbox Game Pass, but it's -- unsurprisingly -- not great at promoting what games are leaving. In fact, it's often up to subscribers to go out of their way to figure out what games are leaving the service on both Xbox One and PC. The start of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Season Two is coming, but it’s coming a bit later than you probably thought.
