Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is over 40GB install on Xbox One

You’ll need just over 40GB of space on your Xbox One to install Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate.

That’s according to the official Xbox store, which lists the game for pre-order along with its file size.

If 40GB sounds familiar, it’s the size of Assassin’s Creed: Unity. And also the patch that went terribly wrong for Unity last year.

This year’s Assassin’s Creed takes the action to London in 1868. It fudges historical times to include Jack the Ripper DLC and throws in some horse and carriages for racing around the cobbled streets.

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is out October 23 but we’d recommend checking reviews and for any technical issues before buying.

if you think 40gb for ac is bad look at some of the higher offenders, mcc is around 70-75 gb. 1 tb isn't really adequate either imo but is a step in the right direction.

Seeing a higher GB install is good. It means you have more content

i'm not complaining about the install sizes, i have 3tb, but i was just trying to get people to realize this is the new norm and that they should plan on spending a little bit extra for a decent sized hdd since a lot of people that have older consoles usually will ask why would i need 500gb?!?! my 360 has 100 gb or whatever the case may be.
But the higher sizes could also be in part due to the fact that hdd's have grown in size and thus it's not as critical to compress the files as much combined with the fact that most games run higher textures and resolutions. So that combined with larger games in general would explain why games on last gen went from around 8-10 gb to 40-80 in this gen

I really hope this AC has alot smoother launch, ACU was a mess and resulted in me selling it within the first week. Good thing I am waiting this one out, then will pick it up

Newer games just take more space, this size of game isn't going to be seen as uncommon very long.
