No single-player campaign mode for Black Ops 3 on PS3 and Xbox 360

4.6
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will only have multiplayer and zombie mode on PS3 and Xbox 360.

The announcement popped up on the Call of Duty community blog, and states that, “The ambitious scope of the 1-4 player coop Campaign design of the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions could not be faithfully recreated on old generation hardware.”

So if you pick up Black Ops 3 on PS3 or Xbox 360, you’ll only be able to play the multiplayer mode and the zombies mode.

The last gen versions will also be lacking in “features built to leverage the next generation hardware like the new Weapon Paint Shop and the new suite of eSports tools [which] will only be available on Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 for PS4, Xbox One, and PC.”

With that in mind, the RRP for the game on older platforms is $49.99 and will include a “bonus download for the original Call of Duty: Black Ops (bonus download availability may vary by region)”.

I don’t know that many CoD players care that much about the campaign, so is the absence of it something that they’ll be upset about? Should we all have switched over to this gen already anyway, almost two years into this console cycle? Let us know what you think about this move in the comments below.

ODST It's been nearly 2 years. Cut off the support to last gen consoles ad reach the full potential of the now current gen hardware.

It's not the "last gen" consoles holding back the "current gen" ones, it's the hardware limitations of them. The devs don't magically have some "UNLOCK ALL POWER" button for the consoles.

This is not true. A good example of this is Ghost. That game looks the same on last gen as it does on current gen. Ghost was designed with last gen still in mind. Advanced warfare and Black Ops 3 were made for newer gen, and a outside company was paid to port the game over to last gen.

It is ridiculous to say last gen ins't holding back last gen. The last gen consoles have almost a quarter of the specs that the current gen has.

CoD is bad in the first place.
They keep going away from what fans want like WaW remake or whole new WW2 games.

Why would they waste time remaking a game?
They do not have the time in their dev schedule to do so.

Why would they waste time remaking a game? Look at the whole franchise. The whole call of duty name has just been the same damn game re-skinned to look like shit ever since MW2.

I am glad that they are beginning to move away from last-gen. In about a year I can see no more 360 games being made.

I was shocked when I saw this but I'm glad they are doing it.

People should just upgrade to the newer consoles there is no reason for microsoft/sony to keep old consoles going.

Nah. They need to keep trying out new ideas. I want a WAW2 but I do not want a new MW game. IF they make WAW2 and people love it... they will either make WAW3 and ruin WAW or make MW4 or BL4. But they better hurry up before BF5 comes out and take over like it did when Ghost came out.

Oh well their loss, just won't buy a next gen console then, or their game.

PozedPosted:

In other words, their trying to force everyone to next gen consoles?

So the old consoles are pretty much receiving half of a game for only $10 cheaper and the old Black Ops? Sounds like a rip off to me tbh
