Black Ops 3 Will Run 1080p/60FPS On PS4, Up To 4K Resolution On PC

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 developer Treyarch has confirmed a number of technical specifications for each platform its upcoming shooter will launch on this November 6.

According to multiple previews of the game, Black Ops 3 can be run at a 4K resolution with a powerful enough rig. As usual, frame rate can be customized to fit your hardware, though a PC developer on the game mentioned that multiplayer could potentially be capped at 200 FPS, as was the case with Black Ops 2 multiplayer. “It’s too early to say what we can do in Black Ops 3,” he said, “but that’s my thinking on the topic.” He added that Black Ops 3 will also ship with a Field of View slider and that the game will “use 100% dedicated servers for all ranked matches.”

Though recommended system requirements are still being finalized, Black Ops 3’s minimum required specs were revealed yesterday.

As for consoles, both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will continue to run at 60 FPS. Treyarch was able to confirm that the PlayStation 4 will display a 1080p resolution but didn’t have anything to announce yet for Microsoft’s Xbox One. Last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare displayed a 900p resolution on Xbox One.

im glad i have a pc and xb1 now resoulution dosent bother me and i can still play with friends on xbox. though i will not be buying any more cods after aw i thought all the aw would have the super jumping and stuff not every cod game.

I know this is just another copy and paste from another website but "Last years Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare displayed a 900p resolution on Xbox One."? ha somebody needs to do their research...

For the PS4 users this is good news but for Xbox One users this could go either way: 900p again or finally a 1080p COD.

AW did not run at 900p on the Xbox One. It ran at 1360x1080p and used a framebuffer to bump it to 1920x1080 in certain areas.

Whoever wrote this article is clearly an idiot or a PS fanboy I think I'll go with the latter.

4k is gonna be great, I just hope my PC will be able to run it. It's a shame if X1 only can hold 900p, so hopefully they pick it up. The difference isn't noticeable from 1080 though, and at 60fps, who can complain.

Let's just pray that jetpacks are out of the game, since they undoubtedly ruined it.

Hei Can't wait to see how good the character customization system is. I like to look good kicking ass.

From what I heard, it'll be pretty basic. Loot based customization won't be making a return, at least not right now. I'm sure they'll find some way to pump this game full of micro-transactions like they've been doing since BLOPS 2, so who knows what'll happen.
