Black Ops 3 Will Run 1080p/60FPS On PS4, Up To 4K Resolution On PC

4.5
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 developer Treyarch has confirmed a number of technical specifications for each platform its upcoming shooter will launch on this November 6.

According to multiple previews of the game, Black Ops 3 can be run at a 4K resolution with a powerful enough rig. As usual, frame rate can be customized to fit your hardware, though a PC developer on the game mentioned that multiplayer could potentially be capped at 200 FPS, as was the case with Black Ops 2 multiplayer. “It’s too early to say what we can do in Black Ops 3,” he said, “but that’s my thinking on the topic.” He added that Black Ops 3 will also ship with a Field of View slider and that the game will “use 100% dedicated servers for all ranked matches.”

Though recommended system requirements are still being finalized, Black Ops 3’s minimum required specs were revealed yesterday.

As for consoles, both the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One will continue to run at 60 FPS. Treyarch was able to confirm that the PlayStation 4 will display a 1080p resolution but didn’t have anything to announce yet for Microsoft’s Xbox One. Last year’s Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare displayed a 900p resolution on Xbox One.

While I won't be getting this game, I still wouldn't mind seeing how it will look on 4k resolution, as well as the benchmarks for it too.

Might look decent but hopefully the game turns out better than the recent cods

XboxPosted:

Well at least the Graphics are going to be nice.

I just Hope the Game is actually worth getting.

lolohnoeszsz Yes you need a larger screen around 28 inches otherwise it wont be true 4k. It's like playing 1080p on a monitor that's under 20 inches.

Ahahahahahahahahahahahah, ok. You don't "need a larger screen". Screen size is nothing to do with resolution. That's like saying you can't have 65" TV's because that's way too big for 1080p.

On topic-Lol, is PS4 even capable of running at 60FPS? Maybe at comparable settings to low on PC's. Guarantee PS4 fan boys will start chanting "lol, PS4 is as gud as PC, we get 60FPS nao".

illume Wait, what even is 4K?

I have no clue what that means?

1080P I swear 360 runs that?

Are you serious? 4k resolution means the game can run natively at 3840x2160 but you'll need a big screen.

Also BO2 isn't going to be on the 360 and even it was it would run at 720p scaled to 1080p.

You do not "need a big screen" There are 4k Monitors that are 24Inches.

That's just the standard/average size of a 4K screen. Some companies make smaller 4K monitors, though. 24 inches is the smallest a 4K monitor is available at, I believe.
