Minecraft: Xbox One Edition blocks shelves in November

4.6
A boxed, retail version of Minecraft for Xbox One is slated to hit shelves on November 18 in the US, Microsoft announced today. In-store, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is $20.

The digital edition of Minecraft hit Xbox One early in September. Those who own Minecraft on Xbox 360 are able to upgrade to the digital Xbox One version for $5 – to be clear, that trade-up system doesn't apply to the retail version.

Microsoft purchased Minecraft studio Mojang for $2.5 billion earlier this month, and Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson announced he'd step away from the company to return to his experimental, Ludum Dare roots.

I might just buy the disc version to increase my number of physical games on my shelf.

DeluxeHazard I don't see the point of having a disc version of Minecraft. If somebody goes to the store it would be more convenient to buy Microsoft currency over a disc.

I agree, it's way more convenient to buy such a small game on the store. To each their own, I guess.

Some people prefer to have a hard copy rather than digital

I dont really see many people buying the disc. Ill just be using the one I've installed to my xbox one.

A disk version is always a good option. It'll definitely broaden their base even more than before.

GossipPosted:

A majority of people already bought it for 360 then got it for $5 so I don't think the disk version will sell like the digital copy.

Might buy the 5 dollar upgrade once again get my xbone.

That marks 11 games coming out on November 18th.

Why not just pay $5 and upgrade for much cheaper? I can see you paying $20 if you didn't have it on 360. But if you already had it on 360 then don't buy the package for $20 since it will just be a waste if money when you can just upgrade.
