Minecraft: Xbox One Edition blocks shelves in November

4.6
A boxed, retail version of Minecraft for Xbox One is slated to hit shelves on November 18 in the US, Microsoft announced today. In-store, Minecraft: Xbox One Edition is $20.

The digital edition of Minecraft hit Xbox One early in September. Those who own Minecraft on Xbox 360 are able to upgrade to the digital Xbox One version for $5 – to be clear, that trade-up system doesn't apply to the retail version.

Microsoft purchased Minecraft studio Mojang for $2.5 billion earlier this month, and Minecraft creator Markus "Notch" Persson announced he'd step away from the company to return to his experimental, Ludum Dare roots.

I think its good that they are putting it out on disk. You can always share with friends this way.

I can't believe people still play MC. It's extremely tedious and I can't stand the game anymore. Each to their own though I guess.

Minecraft is starting to get extremely boring, there's only so many buildings to build before you get bored.

Glad I opted out of Minecraft when I did.
I don't see this game heading in a upwards direction after a corporation like Microsoft takes it over.

When a company is THAT big, it's next to impossible to interact with fans and give them exactly what they want, like Mojang has been doing in the past.

I might as well buy the disk as well, so I know I have it.

I'll be purchasing the disc just to have it...

I suppose I could take it to a friends house if I never use it on my xbox, but a disc version of the game is nice either way.
