Halo Reach now available for free through Games With Gold

Halo Reach is now available to download for free as part of the Xbox Games With Gold programme.

For the first two weeks in September Xbox 360 owners were able to download Monaco: What's Yours is Mine as part of Games With Gold, but this has now been replaced with Halo Reach for the remainder of the month.

Xbox One owners can currently download Super Time Force and Crimson Dragon for free for the rest of September.

Bungie's fifth and final Halo game put players in control of Noble Six, a member of an elite squad of soldiers tasked with protecting the human world Reach from attack by the Covenant.

Games With Gold was launched on Xbox One in June. A single Gold membership provides owners with access to the free games for both Xbox 360 and Xbox One, although the service differs on the two consoles in one important way. On Xbox 360, users are still granted access to free game downloads even if their subscription lapses, but on Xbox One users are required to maintain their subscription in order to access freely downloaded games.

Halo reach was a great game i recommend everyone try it, i will be downloading this as my disc has been broken for a long time.

Halo Reach was a good Halo, but I broke my disc and couldn't play. Kinda glad this is free.

My favorite was HALO 3. even though i didn't really play the rest other than 3 and Reach. Nice that its free :)

Pretty cool that it is free, although I;ve never been a fan of Halo. I played Halo 3 a little and got bored quickly, never bothered with it since then. I suppose free games are always good though. Actually, free anything is ALWAYS good. I'd probably get this if I still owned an MS console.
